Kicking into Freshers Week
The next two weeks see 70'000 students settle into Manchester and two (hopefully massive) demonstrations against the war and for a free education. For more information visit here and check out UMSU's new website on line shortly.
23rd Sept - students assemble 12 noon Students' Union - Tell Blair its time to go.
27th Sept - assemble 5pm UMSU - Education Not War, Unite for a Free Education!

how did your bit go?
the anarcho-block managed to acquire some masked up kids and a large police presence ;) They now have a dozen or so photographs of various anarchists with inane grins and thumbs-up at 'em...
thought it was a good atmosphere, actually surprising really that people can still muster that level of enthusiasm.
The Manchester student block was increadible - simply put the amount of energy displaced all the way round was amazing. By the time we entered the square there was almost 1000 of us.
Congratulations on what sounded like a great demo - and cheers for the plug, comrade.
